Proud and diverse, Aso-Oke is a timeless fabric with a rich heritage. For Spring/Summer 2020, vibrant strips of colour are expertly combined to achieve a contemporary look.
Aso-Oke´s origins stem from cloth created by the Yoruba people of Nigeria, West Africa. The prestigious fabric, which varies in design and colour, is specially created for festivals such as weddings, naming ceremonies and other important events.
Aso-Oke cloth is decorated with elaborate patterns made from dyed strands of fabric which are sewn together to form larger pieces. The beauty of the material is revealed when many people wear similar colours to symbolize solidarity or unity.
This season, we combine tones which represent power, femininity and a youthful spirit. The result is a collection which expresses the individuality and strength of the wearer.
