Week 13: Jules Attempts a 5K - by Jules Part-time copywriter, Full-time overthinker

Week 13: Jules Attempts a 5K

This week’s challenge: run a 5K without stopping or inventing an injury halfway through.

I started strong. AirPods in. Legs fresh. Pace steady. I felt like a gazelle.

By kilometre two I felt more like a confused pigeon. By kilometre three, every step was a negotiation. But I kept going. Me and the playlist I now consider an emotional support system. The last kilometre was pure stubbornness and a tiny bit of ego.

I crossed the 5K mark with the grace of a collapsed tent, but I did it.

No personal records. No fancy finish-line photo. Just me, very sweaty, very proud, and slightly horrified by how sweaty my face can get.

My knee has some opinions, my hip flexors are sulking, but progress is progress. The next 5K will feel a tiny bit easier. That is how it works.

Catch you next week - remember, you do not have to run fast, you just have to run your race.
