Week 12: Jules Gives Yoga Another Go
Back to the mat this week. No springs. No ropes. No machines that threaten to launch me into space. Just yoga. My old frenemy.
The goal was simple. Stretch. Breathe. Find calm. My body, however, had other ideas. Every downward dog reminded me my hamstrings are still traumatised by the Reformer.
Somewhere between warrior two and a very wobbly tree pose, something shifted. I was not rushing. I was not overthinking.
I was not comparing myself to the woman in the front row who can fold in half like a travel pillow. I was just there.
And honestly, the final savasana? Ten out of ten, no notes. I nearly fell asleep. I might have snored. It was a spiritual experience either way.
Yoga is back in the rotation. Not because I am suddenly flexible, but because my brain genuinely felt quieter afterwards. That alone is worth the awkward lunges.
Catch you next week - you do not need to be calm to start yoga, you just need to roll out the mat.
